Essential setup
After installing AtlasOS, install your drivers first. Apply the optional hardware optimizations afterward.
Follow your driver method
Follow the option you selected during installation.
If you chose Windows Update (automatic)
Windows Update installs drivers automatically. Verify everything is up to date:
- Open Settings then Windows Update
- Click Check for updates
- Install all available updates, including optional updates (especially driver updates)
- Restart if prompted, then check for updates again until no more are available
Tip
If internet and display work, Windows Update likely installed your drivers. Skip the drivers section and go to hardware optimization (optional).

Install drivers yourself for full control over versions.

Your setup path
Manually install graphics, network, audio, chipset, and device drivers
Update your BIOS, enable a memory profile, and configure your GPU
Choose a browser, antivirus, media player, and other apps
Keep your installation clean with built-in tools and trusted cleaners

Hardware optimization is optional but recommended. It can improve performance, especially for gaming.
